Three Little Birds is an Indigenous owned food and cultural enterprise founded by First Nations chef Chris Jordan. Born in Maclean, New South Wales, on traditional Bundjalung Country, Chris also has strong family connections to Kamilaroi Country. His journey began in London, where he established Three Little Birds as a unique pop up events company, delivering memorable food experiences and successful fundraising events for organisations including Macmillan Cancer Support, the Roy Castle Lung Foundation, and the Royal London Society for the Blind.
With a career spanning decades in the hospitality and food industry, Chris has worked alongside some of Australia’s most respected chefs, including Peter Kuruvita, Colin Fassnidge, and Jock Zonfrillo. His passion for Indigenous food, culture, and education has become the foundation of Three Little Birds and its mission.
Through the use of native Australian ingredients, traditional cooking methods, and generations of Aboriginal knowledge, Three Little Birds creates authentic food experiences that do more than delight the palate. Each dish is designed to acknowledge, educate, and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and natural resources of Australia’s First Nations peoples.
Chris is also dedicated to creating positive social change through food. He works with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in detention, using cooking as a powerful cultural and educational tool. Through hands on programs focused on bush foods, native ingredients, and traditional food practices, participants are given opportunities to reconnect with culture, country, and community.
More than just teaching culinary skills, these programs help rebuild confidence, strengthen cultural identity, and foster a sense of belonging. By creating a supportive learning environment, Chris empowers young people with practical hospitality skills and employment pathways while encouraging personal growth and cultural pride. The ultimate goal is to support long term change by equipping participants with the knowledge, confidence, and job ready skills needed to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
